It’d really stretch the series’s lore to have them filled with newer equipment. Dead Space 3 takes place on the frozen, abandoned planet Tau Volantis, which is home to decaying Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces military bases that mostly predate the tools and weapons your character wields. Weapon customization was meant to allow you to get upgrades while still making sense within the game’s setting. But that problem could have been easily solved by implementing a much maligned mechanic: weapon degradation. What crippled Dead Space 3 was the fact that it let you craft extremely powerful weapons that removed all challenge. But it’s not the more action-focused levels, cooperative play, or even the lacking story that actually brings Dead Space 3 down. Many of Visceral Games’ intentions and ideas for Dead Space 3 were lost due to corporate-mandated features. It ended the series and split the fanbase. Avoid Seeker Rifle, there aint much to snipe and you can do anything with a Plasma Cutter.Dead Space 3 is regarded as the worst Dead Space game. Saw Blade: Most ammo efficient aka your space chainsaw. One shot when maxed out can take out majority of the easy stuff. Alt fire is a contact grenade with low arc (it's space duh)Ĭontact Beam: Secondary fire, when fully upgraded, does aoe damage + stasis, the ultimate combo you will ever need. Pulse Rifle: your basic automatic rifle with absurd mag size. Big version of Plasma Cutter, but not nearly as powerful on high difficulty settings. Line Gun: the space equivalent of Shotgun. Rotate your laser from vertical to horizontal using Spacebar (aka secondary fire). Pretty strong balance of power and ammo efficiency.
